Elaine Sullivan

Elaine Sullivan graduated from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, Boston Massachusetts in 1986. From 1987 – 1996 she worked in various nursing arenas, including Hospice and Long Term Care facilities. It was during this time that she realized her greatest sense of accomplishment came from helping people to remain in their own homes. In 1996 she went to work as the Director of Nursing for a home health care company whose primary focus was to provide assistance to the elderly at home. In 2003, the homecare was sold and she and co-worker Trevor Ruggles opened their own agency, Independence Healthcare.

Elaine currently serves on the boards of three non-profit organizations, The United Way of Central Massachusetts, Helping People Most in Need, Massachusetts Home Care, Senior Advisory Committee, and the Services Committee of Worcester Elder Service Area, Inc.

Elaine Sullivan, R.N. has been a registered nurse for over 33 years. Her experience working with the geriatric population includes in-home health care, hospice and long term care settings.

As the Director of Operations she oversees the day to day management of both office staff and field employees. Maintaining contract compliance and ensuring client coverage are priorities. She continues to enjoy assisting Nursing Supervisors in the placement of home care aides with clients and providing skilled services to private clients when necessary.

She is an active member of the Services Committee for Elder Services of Worcester Area, Inc. and the Crisis Advisory Board at Massachusetts Home Care.
